Netflix downloads keep showing 'Analyzing'

Why is it that Netflix loads titles and metadata quickly, but when I try to download them, the status gets stuck on ‘Analyzing’ indefinitely? I have to constantly switch VPN nodes to force the download to start; otherwise, it just stays stuck. I haven’t encountered this issue with any other streaming platforms. Is there a way to make the download start faster?
I’ve already tried clearing everything in the cache folder and logging back in, but it didn’t really help.

How long is “indefinitely” ?

It only takes long for me when I’m using an ad-supported plan with AV1 and AAC ..
.. the progress bar during the analysis cycles through 6-8 times.
With an ad-free account, it only takes 1-2 cycles for the same title with same connection.

Does this mean it only applies when using a VPN? - What about without a VPN?

It’s more likely the VPN; either turn it off or use different locations or servers.

I had issues with AV1 and EAC3 with no VPN, and Netflix barely offers H264 or H265, and H264 is outdated, but I just checked 7013, and it went pretty fast in the download queue, using AV1 and EAC3, compared to earlier versions.

Each analysis takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but once it starts, the download speed is very fast—I’ve tried switching several lines and it’s the same for all of them. As for the VPN, I’m only using it to switch regions because the series I want to watch isn’t available in my current location

I understand people want to use VPNs, but they are unpredictable, and streaming providers make huge attempts to block them.
I don’t use one and just stay happy with content I can get in the USA and have not had a delay of 15 minutes to analyze.
So unfortunately this doesn’t look like a StreamFab issue.
You can try the normal routines of clearing cache, temp folders, etc., changing VPN servers or locations, or even trying a different VPN provider.

I’ve never experienced this in 2.5 years of using SF in any country
(I would have quit 3 times already)
and I use foreign countries almost daily.

Therefore, I can rule out SF as the source of the problem ..
.. you simply have a terrible VPN provider.
