Can confirm, I am facing the same issue. If you select multiple subtitles for a Crunchyroll title only some of them will be displayed in VLC. All of them appear as items in the sub track selection menu of VLC, but only some of them will then actually be shown on the screen. E.g. if you download English and Spanish subtitles, only the English ones will be shown. The Spanish ones (even if selected in VLC) will not be shown on the screen - as if the subtitles were never downloaded or not stored/empty.
