I am using DVDFab and UniFab for some time now. I enjoy being able to rip DVD’s and watch movies and shows on my Kodi payer.
However, it annoys me that so many bugs are introduced with every software update. Why do they not test their software before offering as a new release? Currently I am ripping a disc. When I try ripping the next disc, message “insert a disc”. Ehhmmmm, I just did, dude! The behavior doesn’t change after stopping and restarting the software. And this used to be just fine. Regression tests … anybody?
What is also bugging is the promises made on the UniFab suite. Very few are really helping. Turning B/W movies into colorized? UniFab: only if you break the whole movie into scenes and even if you do, you get color differences between scenes which make viewing the result not enjoyable. The same goes for HDR Upconverter and RTX Rapid Upscaler: much detaill is lost in faces to give it a glossy look. And faces and expressions are of the essence, especially in movies and tvshows. Look at AI Video Upscaler promo: an unsharp video is all of a sudden sharp and full of detail. I have tried with quite a few movies to create that effect and believe me: that result is impossible to achieve using the UniFab software.
The only UniFab product that I use regularly an yields good results (at times) is the Denoise AI product.
Is anyone experiencing the same?
