[7013] weird silent failure to decrypt/download

Tried getting Foundation, all seemingly got through ok… One episode got flagged by my checker script in that the 4K HDR/Atmos had the video track that was about 12 minutes shorter than SDR…

Tried playing the HDR download- green (bad decrypt) screen… Checked log- all successful, downloaded the same episode again, same result everywhere (log, and screen, and duration)… Tried the third time… got through fine…

Clearly something is failing silently somewhere… but given that SF has a direct access to the manifest file, SF really should check that all segments of the manifest are really there before processing…

What does your error log say when trying to only download the single issue?

simchris everything completed successfully 😁 (obviously re-trying, sometimes several times, fixes the bad download)
Generally, errors flagged in the streamfab log would be presented in the streamfab itself

LOL… yeah. I had that issue with SILO S2 … ep 3 kept futzing. Waited a day or two, then a-okay.
The cloud is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

simchris pretty much why I have the “does this download look reasonable script”- with ATV you can download subtitles in the original VTT (when it works) then compare the timestamp of the last subtitle and see if it exceeds the duration of the video track, then you can compare the duration of the video and the audio tracks, if you download HDR and SDR you can do more comparisons to work out which one is bad if they don’t agree, etc… (and using mediainfo cli and powershell are fairly easy with pwsh having a native json parser)

The key exchanges are done at server level. So if you’re the first to download it, it might not be decrypted. It means you’re probably the first to download that specific stream. Very odd though that you see no error.
