Green tint on all Disney+ USA Dolby Vision downloads via VPN (HDR10 works fine)

Hi,

I am located in Germany and currently downloading Disney+ content using a USA VPN connection (since German servers are blocked).

All movies downloaded in Dolby Vision have a strong green tint throughout the entire playback.

Important details:

HDR10 downloads work perfectly (no color issues)

The issue only occurs with Dolby Vision content

Files show Dolby Vision in MediaInfo

Direct playback (no transcoding) still shows the green tint

Playback tested on:

LG OLED TV (native Dolby Vision support)

Jellyfin (Direct Play)

VLC / MPC-HC on PC

So this does not seem to be a player or TV issue.
It appears that something is wrong with how StreamFab is handling the Dolby Vision stream from Disney+ USA.

Possibly:

Incorrect Dolby Vision profile handling (Profile 5?)

Missing or corrupted RPU metadata

Base layer / enhancement layer not muxed correctly

Again: HDR10 versions of the same content work without any problem.

Has anyone else experienced this with Disney+ USA Dolby Vision downloads?
Is this a known issue?

I can’t confirm this combo - I never saw green tint with D+ DV ..
.. and I can’t remember any color problem with my standard player mpc-hc (DV or HDR10)

and I don’t think that D+ offer other codec settings as in DE

because you’re trying to play DOLBY VIDEO on hardware that does not support it

Quick update:

After further testing I have to correct myself.

The green tint only appears when playing the Dolby Vision files on PC via VLC.

Playback directly on my LG OLED TV works perfectly and Dolby Vision is detected correctly.

So this appears to be a PC/VLC Dolby Vision playback limitation rather than a StreamFab issue.

On the PC, Media Player Classic HC will tone map DoVi. I think VLC doesn’t want to touch it due to licensing. MPC is more open source and not an official company.
