DVDFab 12 isn’t working for me anymore. Has it been shut down?

DVDFab 13 is much more time-consuming than DVDFab 12. And a lot of things don’t work. For example, the profile: You can create and save it, but it doesn’t appear the next time you start the program, and you can’t access it manually either. You also can’t specify a particular destination directory; it always creates a “Converter” directory, and then an explorer window pops up. Plus, you’re bombarded with ads.

Is there any way to continue using DVDFab?

Regarding the profile functionality in DVDFab 13, we have tested it and confirmed it works as expected.
You can locate the profiles you’ve created within the Profile Selector interface.

For quicker access, we recommend navigating to the Personal > Favorite tab.

To change the destination directory, use the section below.

Regarding the pop-up, please go to the Settings panel to adjust it.

My V12 still works on Win11. Maybe try running as administrator.

Mark, it’s not an administrator issue if it was working for people and suddenly stops working for multiple of us

When I use the Ripper or Converter, DVDFab 12 launches and closes after 1 second with the message “Successful.” No file is created.

I haven’t changed any of the settings I’ve been using for many years.

Matthaei I’ve got the same problem after I had to change my Windows SSD. I put in a new WD-256 SSD a few days ago and installed Windows 11 Pro again, installed all drivers and and updates and DVDFab 12, I launched the Converter and after 1 second I got the message: “Successful” but no file was created. DVDFab 12 was working fine for me without any problems until I had to exchange my OS SSD…

I still can’t belive dvdfab 12 works.
It stopped awhile ago for me, can’t use gpu acceleration so it’s useless.
I got to where I can get dvdfab 13 to work for what I need.
At least the gpu acceleration works right now in dvdfab 13.

I started to experience this 2 days ago.
DVDFab12 converted several mkv files to mp4 successfully on Saturday March 28, but Sunday saw exactly the same as everyone else is reporting, i.e. the converter starts and then stops after a second with “successful”, but no file generated - I tried doing a convert on the files that previously converted successfully the day before, but this time nothing is generated.
At the time I wondered if there was a weird Windows config issue in play because it just so happened that was the Saturday to Sunday when in the UK our clocks changed. There are no logs to show any thing is amiss (in fact no error logs at all)
I prefer DVDFab12 over 13 because it is more reliable and easier to use.

I would not be surprised everyone has to disable the GPU acceleration.
It has no longer worked for me if not disabled. It’s been like that for me for some time.
I just used DVDFAB 12; it takes way too long with GPU codecs disabled and can be very slow, but it worked.

DVDFAB 13 many times is a waste if you want to convert videos or do certain other tasks, but it does work from DVDs.
If converting, then it sends one to Unifab.

If still not working, and you still have the full DVDFAB12 installer, maybe try uninstalling and installing again?

That did the trick, I hate DVDFab13 (it never saves the “render subtitles direct to video” setting!) and had begun to look for alternative conversion software

You helped me, but not in the way you might expect:

Based on your tip, I wanted to try disabling the GPU codecs on my system. But then I saw that they were already disabled, so I turned them on. And now DVDFab 12 is working again. Thank you so much for your tip!

The GPU codecs were enabled from the beginning, and I always saw CPU and GPU usage, which was always between 2% and 5%. But now, even with the GPU codecs enabled, only the CPU usage is displayed at 95% to 100%, no GPU usage. Consequently, the conversion process is taking much longer.

It seems the parameters for with/without GPU were mixed up in the last update. I hope someone in charge reads this and corrects the error.

Edit:
I stopped the conversion because the CPU overheated. The red LED on the motherboard is warning me.

They deactivated in your Lifetime supported options, to no longer supported in your DVDFab-12, so that you have to buy UniFab. Before I had to replace my C drive and install Windows again, DVDFab-12 worked perfectly and used my GPU. Now, suddenly, some “Lifetime” support options have changed to “No longer supported.” This is fraud and a rip-off. So, I then bought UniFab but even that Program doesn’t work 😡 with DVDFab-12 converting a movie, took about 6 to 10 minutes and with UniFab, the same movie takes over 40 minutes. I request that the “No longer supported” options support for DVDFab-12 be reactivated. I paid for it, and “Lifetime” means lifetime.

P.s. To this day, this program doesn’t work for me because it doesn’t use my RTX 5070, only my CPU, an Intel i7-14700KF, and then the case fans and the CPU fan whine. So why changing a good working program to a program that worse. No longer supported options “Lifetime” should be support again for DVDFab-12 🙏
