[7021] Crash when adding a title to a queue for a module after download

I’m able to recreate this repeatedly with both Apple TV+ and Disney+. Didn’t try the others.

Add an episode of a show to the queue
Go to download queue and download it
Go back to the same module
Start analysis on a show and attempt to add an episode to the queue
SF immediately crashes.

The last entry in the log each time is this, so pretty sure this issue may be directly related to the latest queue optimizations.

I was certain I saw someone else report this in a different thread in the last day or so, but cannot find it now to save my life.

If others can confirm this we can get it added to the list.

I tried emptying the download history after downloading the first files to ‘reset’ things.
I have not reinstalled the app because it really seems code related.
I did report this to SF using the Feedback option within the app.

v7.0.2.1; Win 11; Proton VPN off; US based accounts; Cloudflare DNS; logs not relevant to this, IMO

AnttDvdFab If I understand you correctly, the cure to this problem would be to disable analysis of the module that is actively downloading like the AMZN module does.

Couldn’t recreate it. I added Daredevil (series) episode 1 to the queue. I went to the queue and downloaded it. Then went back to the Disney tab and added episode 2 without issues.

Name the show and the exact analyzation settings so I can try again.

PS: I’m on WIn10 though.

Thanks. I am able to recreate it with any combination of shows.

An ep of Daredevil: BA then another ep… crash
An ep of Daredevil: BA then an ep of Maul… crash
On Apple TV+, an ep of Margo’s got Money Troubles then an ep of Monarch: LOM… crash

I’m sure it is something to do with my DL history and I need to go scorched earth by deleting that and emptying all cache / temp files and if that doesn’t work do a full clean uninstall / reinstall.

Hopefully while doing that I can pinpoint what fixes this so I can share with others who may be in the same boat. I’m sure it’s un unexpected error managing the queues, and my system happens to be in a non-optimal state.

Win11 Pro, and I only have Disney+ w/Hulu.

I tried an episode of Daredevil and then let it download.
Then went and tried to do one episode of another show, and once download was clicked, SF just closed.

I might assume if you add the different ones and then download them, maybe they will work ok, or I might try that way myself.

Logs don’t help as you say, as the last lines in mine say nothing about errors, crashes, or anything.

BTW: I always clear my temp folder.

Ok, I did as I said. I added to the queue one episode for 4 different shows and then set them to download, and all went fine.
So you can’t add one, then download, add another, then download.

Full uninstall, reinstall, empty temp folder. still closes if one episode is downloaded and then you attempt to add and download a second from a different show.

Kept trying. Now I got the crash report screen.

Thanks for verifying this for me! I won’t go through the hoops to do the same if there is zero impact.

Oddly enough, when I submitted feedback in the app I usually get an email back, but have gotten nothing this time. I may have to submit feedback again.

This is a bit different from what we keep having to report about Plex.
Plex, you can only add one movie. Then you have to close SF, open SF, and then add another, as after adding one movie, the analyze option is disabled.

Anyway checked 7020, and all works fine for Disney+

0xFeedBeef When this occurs nothing is actively downloading and the queue is empty. Download has already completed.

Error occurs when clicking Add to queue after already downloading a file.

Also, I do have auto-analysis disabled - not that Disney+ or Apple TV+ honor that setting.

The error only manifests when within the same module.

In other words if I’m in Disney+, download Maul, switch to Apple TV+ and try to queue up Monarch, there is no error.

This also fails when using Amazon, which does respect auto-analysis

I just downloaded an episode of The Boys. After it was done, tried to queue up an ep of Invincible.

Crash, Boom. One more error in my event viewer.

Those are access violations - SF is addressing memory that doesn’t exist. More proof this is very likely related to the queue optimization. Bigger proof is the fact that @Stan001 reports this issue doesn’t manifest in 7.0.2.0.

@Wilson.Wang Please have your developers look into this.

AnttDvdFab oh, ok, weird: I very often add stuff to module queues while there’s stuff already queued up there, never had such a crash… All the queues are written into a file in %APPDATA%\DVDFab\StreamFab{taskdata,taskdata_tmp}\$MODULENAME and metadata for each download in %APPDATA%\DVDFab\StreamFab\taskdata\metaData\$UUID

just make sure those directories/files are not corrupted 🤷‍♂️

Edit: you’re right though- it might be queue optimisation specific issue that only manifests in 7021, I’ll edit the thread title to be more specific

No. Once again you missed the point so now the title is wrong. The queue is EMPTY when the error occurs.

There are zero issues adding items to the queue and then adding more items to the queue.

Again. Queue, then download - emptying queue. Next, try to queue another (or the same) item - error.
