Increasing the volume doesn't work

There’s a button when ripping a DVD or Blu-ray to .MKV that apparently increases the volume – by up to 500%.
When I use the button, it has no effect. Am I missing something, or does it really not work?

Hi Dieter,
The button that increases volume does not change the volume you hear during preview. You may try below:
Convert a short clip without volume boost → File A
Convert the same clip with boost set to 200% → File B
Play both files. If File B is noticeably louder (or distorted), the feature works.

I’ve tried it at 100% and 300%. I can’t hear any difference in terms of volume.

sherlogg I tested the “Theater (MKV)” profile. I played back two files — one at 100% volume and one at 500% — and did notice a difference. Please specify which profile you are using and provide your dvdfab13.log file so we can investigate further. Thank you.
