Apple TV - Incomplete Downloads of Owned Movies

Hello - First off, thank you for the incredible work getting iTunes downloads working, and in 4k no less! I have had a challenge since the module was launched however: about 50% of my attempted downloads appear to complete, then process about 22-25 minutes of the film. I’ve reattempted the same films multiple times but each one breaks in the same spot / timestamp. The other 50% work perfectly.

[Edit to add: troubleshooting steps I’ve tried include different bit rates, changing from DV to HDR, clear cache and temp files, and a complete reinstall.]

I’m using Streamfab 7.0.2.3. Based in UK, using US iTunes account, no VPN in the mix. I’ve tried several movies this way, including the below:

Typical download settings are below. I’ve tried switching to lower bit rates, HDR10 vs DV, etc but the result is the same.

Edit: the log file is full of DNS resolution errors, seems you’ve got something funny happening on your end.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I’ll see what I can do to resolve the DNS errors on my end and report back if it helps.

Apple TV has always had some oddball issues, even prior to purchased items. In my own experience the past 16 months, sometimes one item per season will be corrupted. Right now I just downloaded 4 seasons of a purchased series in 1080p with 5.1 and 4 random eps failed at exactly about half way through. (e.g., S02E08, S02E14; S04E08, S04E21). In the past clearing cache and re-adding the specific episodes ONE at a time, solved it. But pain in the butter.

I had the same problem. Turns out one of the subtitle tracks has an incorrect duration and ffmpeg crashes. Still Streamfab reports a succesfull conversion but of course ends up with a file around the size of OP. My workaround was to set Subtitles to None and I get a correct file. (you could most likely also only deactivate the broken subtitle but I was lazy)

I’d been fiddling with network settings trying to isolate the DNS errors (still concerning) but hadn’t had any luck so far. Saw your message, tested against it, and now have 3-4 downloaded “problem titles” that have produced complete files.
