Hulu wrong audio codec

Hey,
Hulu offers aac LC pns witch is a version of aac he. I want aac he and streamfab grabs aac lc pns as it sees it as a higher version. AAC lc pns isn’t really supported on devices other than android devices. If it’s in the manifest can I change the codec to aac he? Is there a way to mod streamfab or could Wilson talk to devs? Thanks!

noahmm798 what are you on about, Android support various permutations of AAC since ages. What does mediainfo say about the audio track of the file you can’t play?

I think you misunderstood lknoahmm798’s statement about AAC LC PNS, Beef. noahmm798 said that AAC LC PNS is not “really” supported on devices other than Android - not that Android doesn’t support AAC LC PNS.

However, the claim that AAC LC PNS is “really only supported by Android” is…dubious. It is popular for Android and IOS because PNS typically provides better compression, but it is also well supported in Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and many hardware players.

I guess the question for noahmm798 is: Is your preferred method of consuming media unable to play the audio? If so, is it providing any kind of error/support information?

But that opens up a much larger question- given that hulu browser streaming is mainly aimed at Windows, why would they provide an incompatible format? I’ve never had a single problem playing back hulu content on windows, ios, or vidaa (variant of andriod) platforms.

Barring anything specific, I very much doubt there’s ever going to be a reply from the devs to anything so vague and generic; and nope, you can’t just fiddle the manifest that SF fetches, even if there did exist a more elaborate manifest- chances are: it would’ve been done by the devs already 🤷‍♂️

0xFeedBeef there is he aac for all proven in the browser mpd. Streamfab will not grab he aac and AAC lc pns was never grabbed until recently. Older versions of streamfab for Hulu ether did he aac or fell back to aac lc 125. aac lc pns doesn’t exist in any other web dl found anywhere else.

Plays fine in Windows. Unless you can point out a specific title that you’re having an issue with, this is a hypothetical conversation that leads to nowhere.
