Hallo, hätte eine kurze Frage zu “ffmpeg” in den Einstellungen. Was muss da angewählt sein? Geht das Automatisch nach jedem Update? Beste Grüße

Ich verstehe deine Frage leider nicht so ganz ..
.. was Du einstellt liegt bei deinen Wünschen
und “Fast Start” ist in den Einstellungen erklärt.

Grundsätzlich bleibt deine Einstellung unverändert bei einem Update

Unfortunately, I don’t quite understand your question ..
.. what you configure depends entirely on your preferences,
and “Fast Start” is explained in the settings.

In principle, your settings remain unchanged during an update.

Danke für die Antwort Germania. Ja hatte mich vielleicht etwas unverständlich ausgedrückt. Habe mich nochmal informiert was “Fast Start” genau heißt. Dachte irgendwo mal gelesen zu haben das jemand damit Probleme hatte
(kann mich aber auch täuschen). Im Endeffekt gibt es ja “nur” die Option wenn man MP4 möchte oder?

Korrekt, Fast Start ist nicht mit mkv verfügbar

Früher war dies immer aktiv (ohne Auswahl), was mehr Schreibzugriffe verursacht
und demzufolge die SSD Lebensdauer verkürzt - s.a. hier (en)

Correct: Fast Start is not available with MKV files.

Previously, this feature was always active (without an option to disable it),
which resulted in increased write operations and
consequently, reduced SSD lifespan - see also here

I go back and forth on this; if I use ffmpeg and leave fast start on it for some reason, it compiles the file on my external drive H: HD and takes a long time.

I was a long-time user using mkv; overall it might be better to use mkv.

If I do use ffmpeg, I leave fast start on, and my separate SSD drive does the brunt work, and it’s still at 100% as it is a WD higher-quality SSD and 4 TB in size as well. My C: drive, a 1 TB NVMe, is still hanging in at 95%.
