I was thrilled to find out that DVDFAB now supported my Blu ray player. My problem is that it still does not support my player. My firmware version is 1.01/ID05. If I need to upgrade this I have already tried the Pioneer site to no avail. Please help and thank you.

beric3236 Do you get any error messages when you try to load UHD discs through the drive? Please share the dvdfab13.log file and the uhd drive tool.log file with us. Thank you.

I found the latest upgrade to my Pioneer, however with the upgrade it still did not work. Here are all the logs for after I upgraded the player. Still got the notice “ Your drive BD-RW BDR-XD07 is not currently supported for uhd playback. Plase check the supported Pioneer drive models.” If it helps my drive is a BD-RW BDR-XDO7UHD drive. Thanks again for your help.

According to the log file, the firmware version is 1.06, not 1.01. Unfortunately, version 1.06 is not supported, and there is currently no solution available for this version.

I’am giving it up on it. I had purchased an LG BU40N which does support DVDFab, I was hoping for a backup drive. Guess I’m out of luck. Thanks tho for all your help and will keep a lookout for your next update to your UHD drive tool. Again Thanks for your help.

The latest firmware for most drives is designed by the vendor to prevent the drive from being able to read 4k Blu rays. To get them to work you need to downgrade the firmware to an older version (like 1.01). This is not always easy as moving to an older firmware is usually blocked by the firmware update tools.
You might check the MAKEMKV forums. They have a thread set up specifically to help users downgrade firmware. It is possible they could offer a solution for your drive.
I have pioneer drive that they were able to help with and it worked fine after the downgrade with most software (except DVDFAB). However the recent DVDfab update changed that and I can now use the drive with DVDFAB as well.
