Paramount+ 702 error

Hello all,

I have an issue with Paramountplus downloader. Series work just fine.. generally, but movies (specifically docs) always give me a 702 error. I just bought a new laptop and it’s the same story there.

I’ve attached the logfile. Any ideas on how to fix this? I’ve submitted numerous tickets but no luck.

mmiltb looks like there’s some corruption with the subtitles, see if setting subtitles to none makes a difference

0xFeedBeef Thank you. Tried that and that did allow the video to download. Since I’m not natively english speaking i do like to download the subs. How can I solve this?

mmiltb you can try various permutations with “extract to original,” “extract to SRT,” or “mix into file,” but if the subtitles are messed up on P+'s end, there’s little anyone but P+ can do, do you get subtitles fine for that particular title in a browser/on a TV?

Open this file in Subtitle Edit and save as srt

The folks at DVDFab won’t like you writing that when they are busy promoting their FabCloud, which can supposedly produce 98% accurate subtitles in 30+ languages using their AI. 🤑

Germania did that sub come from P+? Aren’t P+ subs supposed to be WebVTT? Perhaps that’s what causes the confusion in the remux process…

Germania wonderful, chances are in cases where P+ supply their subs as TTML instead of VTT “remux to file” will always fail if ffmpeg is dumb and assumes the subtitle format from file extension (and why wouldn’t it)… Gonna add it to the list, I guess 🤷‍♂️

I’m a bit confused. Where does the fault lie? With P+ or with SF?

mmiltb nowhere- the providers keep changing things for various reasons… SF is always playing catch-up (for obvious reasons) with providers’ revisions… Things change, fact of life 🤷‍♂️
