Hello,

I’m trying to download a video from HBO Max, but after I click the “Click to analyze” button, the video download does not start. Instead, I get an error message, as shown in the screenshot.

I’m also attaching the log file for reference.

Could you please help me fix this issue?

If I use your url in US I get: Content Not Available

Looks like: Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel
is only in TR available at Max

Looks like a VPN issue - Can you play it in regular browser?

I use Turkey VPN. I checked it before. I can play it in regular browser, in StreamFab browser

As you can see in my screenshot ..
.. SF itself does not cause the analysis to fail.
So the problem is on your end

Please close SF, go to %AppData%\DVDFab\StreamFab\rootCachePath
and rename the cache directory - then re-login, close tab and try again

I still have the same error even after renaming the cache directory and signing in again. This error occurs with every movie and series.

Do you mean using a VPN in Turkey - or (presumably in the US) even without a VPN?

Only with VPN .. then it’s an VPN (not an SF) issue
If always .. I would suggest a complete Removal and fresh Installation ..
.. but since it works for me and not at your 2nd PC I can’t say what’s wrong for you

Can you attach your StreamFab.log ?
Have you tried with different DNS Server or VPN near your location?

For me, HBO Max in Spain is giving me multiple problems downloading any series or video. The scan works, but then it either gives error 212 or gets stuck downloading indefinitely. If you try several times, sometimes it manages to download the content. When you want a complete show, you’re lucky if you download one out of every five episodes.

Yes, I use a VPN, but previously it was working fine.

I checked the logs and found that SF sent a request to default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com. I tried opening:

and received a 404 error.

However, when I play a video in a regular browser, the request is sent to default.any-apac.prd.api.hbomax.com, and I get a server response.

Yes, I noticed that in your log as well ..
.. which is why my initial assumption was that
you were trying it from the USA (without a VPN).

But even so, it is not an SF problem ..
.. because it works for me, with US and AR HBOmax account.

I created new access to HBO and buy access. I tried at previous computer - error. I install streamFab at Mac - error.

Until you clarify which comment refers to use with and which
to use without a VPN, I don’t know how I can help further.

As 0xFeedBeef correctly pointed out, M247 (usually the cheapest to rent)
are recognized as VPNs by almost all major providers.
Therefore, practically unsuitable for circumventing geoblocking.

btw: How many other users do you see in the forum who can’t analyze Max?

I did a little digging and discovered the following:

If we try to find all hardcoded links in “StreamFab64.exe” for Max, we can find that url “https://default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com/” is hardcoded in binary:

In the post https://forum.dvdfab.cn/d/472424-downloading-error/12 we can see that your StreamFab instance used url “https://default.any-any.prd.api.hbomax.com/any/playback/v1/playbackInfo”, but my instance used “https://default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com/cms/routes/” (I don’t know why it happens)

I tried to patch “default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com” to “default.any-apac.prd.api.hbomax.com” in “StreamFab64.exe” by bbe utility, but I cannot launch patched version because “StreamFab64.exe” has integrity check.
Next I tried using Charles Proxy to redirect requests from “default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com” to “default.any-apac.prd.api.hbomax.com”. After doing this, my StreamFab instance started work properly and can successfully download titles from Max.

Can you fix “default.any-amer.prd.api.hbomax.com” domain in the StreamFab binary?
May be you should replace it with “default.any-any.prd.api.hbomax.com” (I checked this domain also, looks like it also works for me)

All tests I have done on the 7.0.2.8 version

As long as it works for everyone else in dozens of countries ..
.. I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high.
