H265 Netflix

Hi, i cant donwload anything in H265 from netflix, doesnt found any resolution when i select H265.

Amazon and Disney in the other hand works fine

Any idea on whats happening?

That depends entirely on your NF plan ..

-> H265 HDR10 + DoVi is only offered with NF Premium plan
-> H265 SDR is possible with (adfree) Standard plan ..
.. but not listed in SF (sample)
-> With ad-based plan no H265 is possible

The thing is, i have Premium plan. I can watch 4k content with Netflix app

Then H265 should also be usable ..
.. however, it’s not offered for every title from NF.
And since HDR10 is offered with AV1 ..
.. it is becoming increasingly rare.

Apparently, H265 is usually (or always) no longer offered for
new releases - it’s obsolete since AV1 is offered as HDR10

H265 HDR10/DoVi is usually only offered for in-house productions.

Okay, I actually found several titles available in H.265.

However, I have a question about 4K content: is 4K only available if the monitor connected to the device supports 4K resolution?

I’m asking because, with Disney+ and Amazon downloaders, I’m able to download 4K content regardless of my monitor’s resolution. I’m testing with Netflix titles that, according to what I found on Google, should theoretically be available in 4K.

So I’m not sure if this is a StreamFab limitation, a platform limitation, or if it depends on the device/display being detected as 4K-capable.

SF can only download NF files in the formats/resolutions available in the SF browser (info)
and CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework = Browser in SF) can’t play in 4k ..
.. even though Chrome can do it with the right monitor + GPU and Win11 - see also post 19 (info)
