Can ISO 21500 Project Management Reduce Software Release Issues?

Reading some of the recent threads about bugs, feature requests, and update-related issues made me think about how important project management is in software development.

In my day job, I’ve been involved with teams working toward ISO 21500 certification in Iraq, which focuses on project management guidance and improving how projects are planned, monitored, and delivered. One of the biggest benefits is having clearer processes for handling updates, testing, risk management, and user feedback.

I’m curious whether anyone here works in software QA, development, or project management. Do you think stronger project management frameworks help reduce issues after major releases, or are software compatibility problems just unavoidable no matter how much planning is done?

Would be interesting to hear different perspectives from the community.

I work on projects outside the software industry, but I’ve noticed that a lot of release problems come from rushed timelines and unclear responsibilities rather than the coding itself. Some of the principles discussed around ISO 21500 certification in Iraq —especially risk tracking and structured review processes—seem relevant here. They probably won’t eliminate every compatibility issue, but they can make it less likely that major problems slip through before a release.
