Disney+ Dolby Vision & HDR10+ Issue

When selecting this option I would have expected to get both Dolby Vision & HDR10+ on all episodes in where the Tv Show has been selected. I have found this is not the case. Some will download with both or a few will be Dolby Vision (green tint) and some will be HDR10+. Can this be fixed so that all episodes selected get both Dolby Vision & HDR10+ option as selected and not individually please. Tested on Star wars The Book Of Boba Fett and Star Wars The Mandalorian.

SF can only download what the vendor offers 🤷‍♂️

ekelly1973 ok, so after more digging around, I managed to replicate the issue by trying to download The Veil in HDR10+ w/ DoVi… The root cause of the problem is that when D+ doesn’t offer a HDR10+ stream for some episodes, SF seemingly falls back to non-deterministic selection of HDR10 or DoVi profile 5.

It is annoying that we get a mixture for the episodes. Here are some screen shots to show you that I selected Dolby Vision & HDR10+ but i get a a mixture.

As you can see I have selected The Dolby Vision & HDR10+ option

As you can see different outcomes each time. I am hoping that this can possibly be corrected.

ekelly1973 Like I said in #4: the problem is that D+ doesn’t provide an HDR10+ stream for that specific episode, what do you want SF to do, birth you one? 🤷‍♂️

I have found that most of the time the HDR10 and Dolby Vison variants can be downloaded.
So, if the HDR10+ + Dolby Vision hybrid fails to download trying HDR10 as the base layer of the hybrid should probably be tried. Maybe advice to the user this fallback has been used could also be done.

Manually creating the hybrid is tedious and it’s clear StreamFab already has the infrastructure to create these so how about it?

raven-au the problem is that it’s an extra layer of tools that SF will have to support in perpetuity, i.e. allocate resources… so the question for you is then: given finite resources, would you rather have SF allocate those to something that you can do yourself, or would you rather those resources were allocated to the cat-and-mouse game with the providers?
