Need help with StreamFab and DVDFab after update

Hi everyone,

I am facing a severe issue and hope someone here can help. I have been using DVDFab and StreamFab on my Lenovo laptop (Windows 11) for over a year without any problems.

Yesterday, I updated DVDFab 13 to the latest version and successfully burned a disc. Immediately after completion, a DVDFab error report popped up. Shortly after, my Windows crashed with a BSOD: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.

Current situation:

Both StreamFab and DVDFab freeze completely at the splash screen.
The laptop only runs stable if I do a “Clean Boot” via msconfig (disabling all non-Microsoft services).
Even in Clean Boot, the system randomly crashes or freezes after about 2 hours.
I already checked C:\Windows\System32\drivers but couldn’t find old files like fabio.sys or vso*.sys.

Has anyone experienced this after the recent update? Is there a specific standalone Clean-Uninstall Tool or a known registry fix to completely purge the corrupted driver remnants so I can reinstall StreamFab cleanly?

try this - Run System Repairs: Open Command Prompt as Administrator and execute sfc /scannow to repair corrupted system files, followed by DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to fix the system image

Update: I ran the system repair tools and Windows is now completely clean and healthy. The full virus scan also finished and found absolutely nothing. However, the laptop still crashed once when it had to work too hard. It is definitely an issue with the broken program update. I will take a break now and check for your replies later.

The laptop trapped me in a 20-minute crash loop with graphic errors (VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL). I went into Safe Mode and disabled the NVIDIA card. Now the PC runs fast and the boot sound is normal again. I suspect that the initial crash corrupted the graphics driver subsystem. I will try a clean GPU driver reinstall later.

Final Update: The issue is completely resolved!It turns out it was a rare driver overhead crash. During the DVD burning process, a sudden system conflict corrupted the NVIDIA graphics driver and mixed up some Windows files. It was NOT a bug in the DVDFab software itself, just an unlucky coincidence.How it was fixed:Ran SFC /scannow (it successfully found and repaired corrupted Windows files).Went into Safe Mode and temporarily disabled the NVIDIA card to stabilize the system.Performed a clean reinstall of the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver (checking the “Perform clean installation” box to wipe out the broken driver remnants).After a reboot, the Lenovo boot sound is normal again, and both StreamFab and DVDFab 13 open instantly and run perfectly stable.
