About the Conversion Time
AI upscaling is an extremely intensive process that requires substantial computing power. For a DVD movie, processing can indeed take tens of hours, depending heavily on your hardware. The total time is primarily determined by your GPU’s performance. As you’ve observed, using the Intel GPU option is the correct path for your system, as the CPU alone lacks the dedicated AI processing capabilities needed for this task.
About the Failed Conversions
Based on the logs you sent, the interruptions appear to stem from a data bottleneck. The AI engine is processing data faster than your DVD drive can supply it, which eventually causes the process to time out.
We recommend the following steps to resolve this:
Rip the DVD to your hard drive first. Use DVDFab Copy- Main Movie to create an ISO or folder backup of the disc on your computer.
Run the AI Upscaler on the file from your hard drive. This eliminates the optical drive speed bottleneck, allowing the AI to process data steadily and should prevent the premature stoppages.
An Important Note on RAM
While your 64 GB of system RAM is an excellent asset, the AI upscaling process relies on GPU memory (VRAM) for its core calculations. The system RAM is not a substitute for VRAM in this workflow.
