Hi,
I was wondering if its possible for a dedicated VIP module for Movies Anywhere.
I know what some of you might be thinking: Isn’t a Movies Anywhere module redundant since StreamFab already supports Apple TV, Amazon, and Fandango at Home?
It’s true that because of how Movies Anywhere syncs, you can buy a movie on Apple TV, have it populate across your connected accounts, and then simply use StreamFab’s Amazon or Google Play modules to download it without having to rebuy it. However, relying on those connected retailers as a workaround means missing out on the actual files and unique features Movies Anywhere provides.
Here is why a direct module would be incredibly valuable for us:
Native Server Hosting: Movies Anywhere doesn’t just act as a license bridge between retailers; they host and serve their own video files directly from their own servers.
Premium Bitrates: The native streams coming directly from Movies Anywhere feature exceptionally high bitrates—comparable to the quality you get directly from Apple TV.
Different Aspect Ratios: Movies Anywhere frequently serves their video files in different aspect ratios than the encodes provided by Amazon or Fandango.
Access to Special Extras: Movies Anywhere hosts full sets of movie extras—like behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, and bonus featurettes—that are playable directly in the web browser. Having a dedicated module would hopefully allow us to download these bonus features too.
Having the ability to pull the native stream and bonus content directly from Movies Anywhere—rather than settling for a re-encode from a connected retailer’s library—would be a massive win.
Thanks for considering!
