macOS 26.5.2 - SF 7.0.3.6 - VIP / AIO - Region: Apple TV US store
I’ve been having issues with purchased Apple TV 4K Dolby Vision H265 content in the latest two versions of SF as MKV files using the ffmpeg setting. The downloading itself seems to work well but the issue is in the processing / remuxing stage right at the end.
I’ve tested random 4K DV titles over the last few days, all with varying runtimes, audio codecs and color spaces (SDR, HDR10, HDR10+) and SF seems to only fail when Dolby Vision is selected.
One example: “Western Stars” (2019) has 4K DV and Dolby Atmos. When selecting Dolby Vision at the highest bitrate, the film downloads, processes and even exports a MKV file into my SF output folder but it’s an empty file with 0 KB size and no information whatsoever in it according to MediaInfo. The same film downloaded in HDR10+ again at the highest bitrate works without issue!
HD, 4K SDR and 4K HDR10+ titles work with ffmpeg.
(Another issue I noticed is that the subtitles of certain content are only downloaded & exported up until roughly half of the runtime or less. An 80+ -minute film tends to have subtitles for 40 minutes, 100+ minute film for 50 minutes, 120+ minutes gives 60 minutes subtitles and so forth but I’ll make a new topic for that).
