Paramount+ via Amazon prime us subscription requires private info to continue

Subscibed to Paramount+ via Amazon.com.
First time I see this. Tried to get Sheryl (doc on Sheryl Crow, but anything from paramount will do the same), and got an error saying “see if you can play the title”. I selected “play” and got this:

Pretty sure they are the last people to which I want to give out any info they might not already have.

I cancelled my subscription. Maybe this contributes to the login issues others are seeing with regards to the non-amazon Paramount subscriptions?

Yep, with non ad-free accounts, they make money by collecting your data, but AMZN also shares the info with the channel provider they are “forwarding” through their platform. I have not seen this with my ‘ad free’ account. Stuff like your “watch history” is common info captured by every streamer (even Amazon, which tracks how many hours you watch among other things).

You will have to agree to the same requirement with a direct P+ account, soooo…..

Yeah, they probably have all my stuff info already except maybe device id and IP (I use a vpn)?
Regardless, I would much rather a cancellation be registered after such a request, than full on compliance.

Luckily lots of other streaming services, so P+ probably not a big loss anyway.

On the flip side of the coin: the more companies actually have and collect that kind of data, the less valuable that data becomes… 🤷‍♂️

What happens when you click Continue Watching? Literally every web site you visit has standard disclaimers now, thanks to a law passed in Europe.
(PS - I already know the answer to this)
