I can confirm 7025 works; I only tried mkv format.

I also cannot say that the extensions are right; they told me DRM on another site, yet yt-dlp worked.
I say this because the extensions won’t get from tbs.com and some say DRM, yet yt-dlp works fine on tbs.com movies

Due to the format of TLC, I am not up to trying yt-dlp direct command line for TLC.

ADDED: After checking with TubeDigger, it is not DRM; TLC breaks it up into multiple mp4 files.
So with TubeDigger I could not manage the full-length show.

@Stan001 @xjock4ever There’s another thing you could test. First install extension https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/get-cookiestxt-locally/cclelndahbckbenkjhflpdbgdldlbecc. Then go to TLC and click “Get cookies.txt” button. Click “Export As” and name the file cookies.txt

Then paste in cmd (replace path to cookies.txt with your own):
yt-dlp --cookies "C:\Users\Martin\Desktop\cookies.txt" https://go.tlc.com/video/jay-pamela-tlc-atve-us/risk-it-for-a-biscuit

If the paid content also offer m3u8, then it maybe will work doing it this way.

Yeah, for some reason when SF changed from YoutubeToMP3Process and YoutubeToMP3Service to just using yt-dlp SF doesn’t recognize the video to use yt-dlp.
yt-dlp command line works as well, but even I think if I wanted the show, I would use SF version 7025.

Stan001 I’m a little unsure, did you test the specific paid video https://go.tlc.com/video/jay-pamela-tlc-atve-us/risk-it-for-a-biscuit with yt-dlp including the cookies parameter?

yt-dlp works with free videos from TLC. I’m just curious to know if it works with paid videos too if using yt-dlp in cmd with cookies parameter.

Yes, all my tests are with https://go.tlc.com/video/jay-pamela-tlc-atve-us/risk-it-for-a-biscuit

I even added –sub-langs en –write-subs

yt-dlp --cookies "cookies.txt" https://go.tlc.com/video/jay-pamela-tlc-atve-us/risk-it-for-a-biscuit --sub-langs en --write-subs

And I get the VTT subtitles. (According to yt-dlp –list-subs, they only have en VTT available).

But as I said, if I wanted the whole show, I still would prefer to use 7025. But to each their own decision.

Stan001 Thanks for info. 🙂 That confirms both mpd and m3u8 is available for paid content at TLC.
