INFO - Netflix brings 4K support to Google Chrome on Windows 11

Several tech blogs are reporting that Netflix finally supports 4K playback in Chrome browsers on Windows 11. It was already supported in Safari onMacOS. For those more in the know on technical matters, does this open any doors for StreamFab to enable 4K downloads from Netflix?

Please put aside very valid concerns about shadow-bans and perm-bans on Netflix accounts for high-volume downloading in 4K, I’m just curious if it’s now potentially doable for SF to support 4K downloads in Netflix since Chrome in Windows 11 is now supported …

DarkSkies it’s now potentially doable for SF

That was already the case back in March ..
.. and even though Netflix offers 4K in Chrome
(provided the hardware supports it)
it still doesn’t make it through to CEF
(Chromium Embedded Framework = Browser in SF) => see here

Several of us have mentioned this. Would be nice to see some SFAB support for Netflix 4K based on the Chromium support.

Ah, darnit … that’s what I get for searching “Netflix” threads … “NF” in that thread title did NOT come back as a match! 😄
