Clean Install Update

Could someone with Trusted access please make two small changes to my Stickie message, How to do a Clean SF Install for Windows, as I no longer have access to it? You can word it anyway you want as long as it covers all that I’ve listed.

1) Where it says, “Totally delete the contents of your StreamFab Log & Temp directories,” add in deleting the contents of C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab\rootCachePath. Obviously the <username> should be the name of the user running StreamFab. This addition isn’t absolutely necessary because the uninstaller program should remove it, but not all uninstallers are created equal. Some “free” uninstallers will not remove everything that a “Pro/Premium” version will. Doing it manually makes sure that it is definitely gone.
2) Where it says, “Then go up to the upper right of StreamFab’s display…” change that to the button named My Account in the lower left and then choose Settings from the popup.

I would say that it meets my wish because that is exactly what I do when I do a clean install, which is what I do whenever I do an update. As I wrote, the rootCachePath probably doesn’t need to be deleted if using a Pro/Premium uninstaller, as they are usually good at removing everything related to the program. I’ve tested a few free versions that don’t uninstall even as well as the official Microsoft uninstaller, leaving behind all but what is found in the Programs directory for the app. I’ve never had a bad update after I started doing a clean install. I suspect that those who have troubled updates and say they have done clean installs have taken shortcuts with my instructions.
Some people delete the contents of the entire C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab, rather than just the rootCachePath. That is ok, as well. I’ll leave it up to you on what to write for 1) and how to word it.
I know you are a big fan of updating by using a different directory for each SF version instead of doing a clean install. That works fine with the advantage of creating multiple versions at your fingertips. If I were to do that method, I would still delete the contents of rootCachePath (or C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab), as it would share the data with the other versions. Or so it would seem; I’ve never tried it.
