Anyone else noticed audio issues?

Recently been remuxing some mp4’s to alter them from windowboxed to letterboxed, as 2.21:1 vid’s usually play, but that’s not the issue.
Whilst going thru my collection I’ve been playing them to check for WB (some aren’t at the beginning but change after the opening film company logo) & noticed that I had some dl’s with no audio. When I checked further I found that there were quite a few.
No pattern, no commonality, some films, some TV progs, some no audio straight away, some after several minutes, some after an hour or more.
Anyone else had the same problem - anyone else even checked???

I usually watch everything I’ve downloaded within a week ..
.. no problems with the sound (and I dl mp4 files by default as well)

Wish I had the time to do that, but I’m currently engaged in replacing our ripped DVD library (which was large) with dl’s, if possible HD versions. What I can dl in just hours would take several months to watch. Come winter, when we often have no electric or internet for days, we may get the chance to catch up with the viewing (before someone asks, back up batteries, large inverter, generator).

sounds like a local issue, I have a script that I run on all downloads which checks duration of video and audio tracks and subtitles, and flags anything when there isn’t a match within tolerance limits… I don’t recall the last time that script flagged anything

Script sounds interesting as a fast check, but would it spot several examples I found where the audio fades out after X minutes? Checking the codec info. whilst playing on VLC it still shows the audio, codec but not its duration.
Local issue? I’ve built a new PC recently, based on Intel rather than AMD that I’ve favoured for many years, but I’ve got MP4’s which have the issue and span both hardware types.

No issues here. I do spot checks with MediaInfo after new SF version updates, just to check for gremlins.

lesgreen.swants what do you mean by “fades out,” if it disappears, as in there is no track, the difference in duration of tracks will be flagged 🤷‍♂️

“Fades out”, as in it’s there one minute, reduces in volume over a number of seconds, then isn’t there, but checking the codec info. on VLC shows an audio codec.
Got several as well where the audio just abruptly cuts, but codec still shows. Tried playing on the TV & whacking the volume right up, but nothing.
Just annoying but most examples I’ve been able to find the vid. available somewhere in the world to dl, but it’s when it happens with a single episode in a series that it becomes a pita.

lesgreen.swants that doesn’t sound like an SF issue, there’s no way SF would modify the audio—it either downloads the audio track or doesn’t.
