I intend to semi permanently attach a USB hub with several drives to the server. Unfortunately the server detects a usb drive and allocates sda,sdb etc each time the server is booted. There is no certainty about which identifier will be allocated to each drive. As external drives are now usable as part of the library this causes confusion and new scans have to be conducted. Could there be a more persistent method of identifying the drive (eg by UUID or something)?
