Can you add a timer to the "Shutdown system" feature. Maybe a dialog box that allows you to abort the shutdown? If no response to the dialog box was detected after 60 seconds, just shutdown anyway.
For some reason the shutdown after completion option keeps getting set without me realizing it was set... Until it shuts down.. it happened to me at least 10 times now..
