Alright so I went and bought a new fan today. I did get the temps to max out at 56c which is okay. But, still freezes halfway through encoding for blus. No problems with DVDs, just blus. It must not like something in my hardware. I can't ever get DVDFab to work with blus. I've been trying for about 2 years now, never works.

Yeah prolly the temp is causing the problem. I've been looking at coolers. I've got to find one that doesn't require me pulling my board out though. I don't want to get into all that. Thanks for your help.

Right. Hooked up by bdrom via esata port on my laptop and no problems. Just slower.

Hadn't thought about temps. Good program to monitor that? I'm not over clocked or anything like that.

Yes specs in post 1 are from main computer. Thanks.

This is why I suggested setting to all Software, because you have an ATI Radeon HD 5870 which does not support Cuda, only NVidia cards do.
Fab uses the Cuda technology to take some of the load off your CPU so it does not have to work so hard. And ripping to your HDD first is the recommended procedure so as to save wear and tear on your drive.

Right and I indicated above they are all on software. Also indicates above is that I did try to rip to the hard drive first but it froze my comp as well.

Are you also converting from the drive? If so do not do this.
Save the movie as main movie or full disc, depending on what you want too your hard drive.
Then reopen Fab and use the rip you just did as your source, choose options such as audio, subtitles, etc. and then do your converting from the rip you have on your hard drive and never from the drive.
    CBR929
I tried doing this before as well. Still freezes.

Make sure you set all options to software, to do this Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, set Video Decoders to Software and set Video Encoder to Software also try unticking Enable Lightning Re-Coding restart Fab and try again.
    Hope this helps

These were all set this way. I will try unticking enable lightning....but that was enabled on my laptop where this is working...
