Without fail and without exception, Windows Media Player absolutely will not play any ISOs I create from DVDs with the following options:
DVD Copy --> Customize:
Main movie selected (nothing else)
First audio track selected (English)
First subtitle track selected (English/normal captions)
Copy DVD-Video (VIDEO_TS folder) checked
Change DVD playback order checked
Jump to main title when disc inserted selected
Remove annoying PGCs (like FBI warnings) checked
DVD9 (Quality 100%)
It seems that the culprit here is the "Jump to main title" option. If I have it "Jump to first menu when disc inserted" or if I uncheck Change DVD playback order, Windows Media Player has no problem playing the files.
The real kicker is that VLC Player does play these videos just fine. But I really don't like VLC player - I'd rather fix this problem. On the surface it would appear Windows Media Player is to blame, but when Windows Media Player has no problem playing any other ISO files created with any other program, it seems to me that DVDFab is corrupting these ISO files in some way. My suspicion is that VLC Player simply ignores this corruption and deals with it successfully while WMP throws a fit.
Actually, it's not really a "fit" - it's quite uneventful actually. When WMP attempts to play one of these files, it's like it thinks the file is zero seconds long: it ends instantly. I can click on the play button again, but then it just ends again an instant later.
