I deleted both the "DVDFab 8" and "DVDFab 8 Qt" folders in the directory above, restarted and... it worked. Everything seems to load OK now. Thanks for your help.

Here is my log. The log shows it loading successful but I got an error message as each option loaded as shown here in post #5 (errors when not running as administrator). Even though the error were displayed the log does not appear to be very useful in this case.

Run as Administrator or disabling UAC seems to be the only thing required to get it to work. Hopefully they will have a fix in the next release.

Similar and Another Issue with latest version

I am having the same issue with the current version running Win7 Ultimate 32 bit. The errors come up then the program starts.

I uninstalled and reinstalled by running the install package as administrator. (I always DL from DVDFAB.Com)

The problem remains unless I run the shortcut as an Admin.

I am also having another issue . . . DVD fab refuses to stay minimized!

When I minimize it, it will pop back up on its own in just a few seconds.

Any recommendations to keep it quiet????

It is the same company, just a different version of the software that is sold in some areas.

I've never used dvdfab.net but after reading these posts I went to take a look and it looks just like dvdfab.com which leaves me wondering what/who is dvdfab.net?

    What is dvdfab.net vs. dvdfab.com?

I definitely went to the link you provided (after running ccleaner, and restarting computer, etc) and did my download from there.

As someone suggested, if you "run as admin" when you start the program it seems to skip the errors.

    thanks for your help

Developers are mistaken. I downloaded directly from the link you provided. The link you provided seems to be the official DVDFab download site, which is where everyone else who is having this issue has also downloaded from.

Hopefully, at some point they will figure out the problem.

FWIW, the program still seems to work once you get through all the errors.

Thanks for the short cut, but seems to be a lot of work for something that should run right in the first place. I am currently running 8.1.5.9 as ADMIN everytime. It gets rid of the extended error messages, but the program still does not work properly. I cannot drag and drop files for conversion for example. What a pain.

I ALWAYS DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY FROM DVDFAB.COM

    Win 7 Pro 64-bit

    Errors DVDFab 8.1.5.9 work around

I just found a way to work around the errors when opening this update in Win 7 x64. The first one I tried was run as administrator but the problem with this is you have to give permission every time you open it. Here is a link to what I did and it works perfect without removing UAC. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...pt-create.html
