Folks, please take a minute to actually read the thread in which you wish to post.
We now have 3 fixes, two of which are redundant.

Thanks again to SecretSuperstar who posted the initial fix back on post # 28.

Subsequently, AVG has fixed the issue with its software, ie., false positive.

There is no virus, malware, etc., contained in Fab software
Since this problem has been resolved, I'm closing the thread.

    Thanks to all contributors.

In order to continue using DVDFab, you need to add an exception in AVG for the problem file. (I just did this and DVDFab is working now.)
    1. Double-click the AVG tray icon to launch the AVG config UI.
    2. Go to Tools > Advanced Settings > Resident Shield > Excluded Files.
    3. Click Add, then browse to the exact path/file that AVG was complaining about (in this case, Msvcr90.dll in the DVDFab install folder).
    4. Click OK to close AVG Advanced Settings.
    5. Re-launch DVDFab.

I do not know how to report these problems to AVG, and their link to find more details about a given infection NEVER EVER WORKS
    .

how to get rid of the AVG virus warning

NOTE: I did this and DVDFAB7 is now working fine for me. However I still do not have 100% proof that there is no real virus.

Anyway, this is what you should do:

1.Right click on the AVG icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and open the AVG User Interface.
    2. Click on Tools->Advanced Settings
    3. On the left hand side look for Resident Shield. Click on theh "+"
    4. Click on excluded files
    5. On the right hand side click on "Add"
    6.Locate the msvcr90.dll file. It's usually in C:\Program Files\DVDFab 7
    7. Add it, make sure it's checked in the list of excluded files. Press OK
    8. That's it !

I had the same thing some time ago with McAfee.

Best advice I got from someone here was that IF you are only copying DVD to DVD as I do, copy your DVDs while off line, and also disable automatic updates, just check for them here on the Forums.

I believe it is different for Blu-rays.
