Guest repliedThank you. I didn't realize it was that easy to blank a cell. However, what if the portion I want to delete/cut/trim isn't a full cell long. How would I do that? The only way I've found is using VobBlanker and setting markers then indicating cut or keep; I think what happens is the cell splits and the part I don't want is blanked? Is there a way to do that in PE?

@Drewster
I will answer your PM's questions on the forum so that everyone has the benefit !!!
Actually, one thing I'd like to know how to do is trim a cell. I'd like to cut/delete the beginning lead of a movie (like dreamworks or pixar) and ending credits.
First check the box as shown in this image:
Now select the box to "Blank this Cell", then "Close Preview" button (or Shift+B), now that single cell have been blanked.
FYI: Just carefully read the Warning message Dialog boxes that pop-up after selecting the "Close Preview" button. r0lz did a very good job with the descriptors of how to continue, very easy ......
Note:- Seems like a lot of extra work to remove "beginning lead" or "credits", I normally just use to garbage, i.e. warning, etc.
- You can also use this method to remove a single "Title" in a titlset, cuz if you use Ctrl+Delete in a titleset it will blank the WHOLE titleset.

Guess I won't be able to explain in few words....
I was given the OK to create a guide, but it will take some time as I'm real busy with other stuff right now.
I would post some images but looks like I'm having a problem with my imageshack account on top of everything else ....

Guest repliedPGC > Edit PGC then unselect the cell, right? If so, what's the benefit of vobblanker if just removing cell(s)?

Guest repliedYes, props to AlienX69 for getting me started with pgcedit. Thx! As I continue to read more I'm always learning; this is all so new to me. There is stuff I want to remove at the front and tail ends of main movies, I'll take a look into Vobblanker. Thx for the suggestion. I didn't know it was possible when it's not a separate cell.
Cheers.

DVDFab usually gets everything on older movies. The ones it misses are the ones that are after you click Play on the menu. But they are easy to find and remove with PGCEdit. As others have said, the learning curve is a little steep.

FYI: You don't see that much on the NEW releases, that is mostly on older DVD's and usually ones that are low budget stuff.Last edited by AlienX69; 02-03-2010, 04:00 PM.

Using DvdFav 6.1.2.5Originally posted by Drewster View PostIf you can't rid your final rip of annoyances I encourage you to look into pgcedit.
I highly recommend that you give it a try !!!

Guest repliedI, too, have not had much success in having them removed and then successfully playing with VLC. Sometimes they wouldn't remove and many times the resulting rip wouldn't play with VLC. I have just started with pgcedit and have found this annoyance typically in the sequence associated with main menu. I "kill playback" using pgcedit and customize navigation using pgcedit and find it worthwhile to learn (the learning curve was very big for me not knowing about these things before).
Also I was burning with free 3rd party apps then on recommendations from this forum started using imgburn and haven't had a problem with a disc playing since.
If you can't rid your final rip of annoyances I encourage you to look into pgcedit.

I usually ripp the DVD i Customize mode and as DVD9 to DVD folder on the harddrive
and then use PgcEdit to remove stuff that DVDFab could not remove.
And after that I use DVDFab on the ripped cleaned files and compress them

This version (and everyone after it) seemed to be the magic number(s) for it to start removing the PGC's (not all the time but most of the time) as well as having the disc starting at the main menu when the disc is loaded. (Another option I have checked) So I guess for these features to work, it will depend on different factors. (What version of Fab you use, how the DVD is authored, etc.)

Guest repliedOriginally posted by Gruñón View PostYes it is possible. I have had it happen a few times over the years but not many.
I always do movie only.
Maybe the FBI warnings are only for the USA..........
