Freezing during encoding

Hi there, I purchased DVD-Fab a month or so ago and seem to be having a problem with about 20% of the discs I try and compress to BD25. What happens is the process will begin perfectly fine, but then at a certain point DVD-Fab will just stop processing with no error message given. It basically sits there doing nothing and letting the 'Time Elapsed' increase forever.

It has done this since 8.0.7.5 and I have tried every version (including betas) up until now and every version is affected in exactly the same way.

I've attached my log for one particular example, hopefully someone can explain what is going on here.

Is this happening from the original Blu-ray disc or just from the iso file? Have you used a virtual drive like DVDFab virtual drive which is free to mount iso before you open DVDFab? Also what are the steps you take when using original Blu-ray disc? Have you tried to save to folder with no compression and then use that just saved folder to compress to BD25?

The more info you post the faster we can help you and get this figured out

Some more info...

This happens when using ISO files, BDMV folders and also straight from Blu-Ray disc. The input method doesn't seem to affect this issue from happening.

My usual routine is to use DVDFab to rip the blu-ray into an uncompressed ISO file, then feed the ISO back into Fab and use the Blu-Ray Copy feature to compress the BD50 ISO down into a BD25 ISO and then burn using imgburn.

I have also tried ripping the ISO using imgburn and anydvd but it does not stop this issue from happening.

I have also tried turning on/off lightning recoding and hardware decoding but again it does not change the outcome.

Same issues here. Seems to have started with the 8.0.8.x versions.

Same here 8.0.8.0 started it again hits 21 % and FPS starts dropping like a rock till it is down to 0 FPS. Have went from 20 minute rips to not being able to finish a rip. tried to revert back and am using 8.0.7.3.

The 'Devil Wears Prada' that I have is a standard UK version bought from the high street. Off the top of my head I also have the same problem with...

-Harry Potter & Prisoner of Azkoban (UK Version from box set)
-Life On Mars Series 1 Disc 2

If I encounter any more I'll add them here, there's been about 10 so far I just can't remember which ones.

Just to update everyone I've tried the same problem titles on the latest versions of DVDFab (8.0.8.6 Qt and 8.0.8.7 Qt) and the problem is still exactly the same.

Anybody got any ideas of things to try?

I would suggest going back to older version 8.0.7.3 I too had problems with some of my movies freezing up during playback and other problems with the new versions. When i went back to older version all of my problems were fixed. I'm just waiting for new version that works with out all of the bugs.
