Blu Ray 3D "Insert compatible media"

Ater I compress and copy my Blu Ray as an ISO to make it fit a BDR 25GB disc. I change my source to the ISO file I just made and choose my target as my Blu Ray drive. When I put my Blu Ray RW dsic in and try to burn it tells me to "please insert compatible media", any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Did you use the Write Data mode to burn the ISO file?

I'm not sure if I did what you are saying (sorry, I'm new at burning 3D). All I did was change the source file to the ISO and the target to the Blu Ray drive. It would act as if it were burning (stopped getting the insert compatible media message) the file, but then I would look at the BR when done and it would have the movie title, but the disc was empy.
If I'm trying to burn in the wrong way, exactly how do I put it in the write data mode? Please give me a step by step.

Ok, I've figured out how to put it in the write data mode. However, the size of the file is 23,680GB, but when I put in a 25GB disc to burn it's telling me to insert a dual layer BR dic, that the project is to large to burn on a single layer. I'm not sure why I need to compress or how to compress it?

The why is disk manufacturers size their product using base 10 number system and computers understand Binary numbering system so a 25GB disk holds 23.283GB so you are over the limit. The how might be to select the movie only and compress.

Speedinbk:If you want to check remove hd audio when the save as 3d screen comes up the disk will be a smaller size and able to burn on a 25 gig disk.Just check the little box that says remove hd audio, Fab will re do the math with out the HD sound and allow you to proceed using a 25 gig disk.You still get a good sound track from DTS or Dolby digital in surround sound just not the DTS HD audio or Dolby true.Use this trick when you need to shave a little off the total to make it fit on a 25 gig disk when the total gigs is just over the 25 gig limit like the disk your telling us about.Their are other tricks like you can cut the end credits to make the total disk smaller but use the remove hd audio for now later you can learn other tricks and learn how to compress.This way you don't need to compress which takes hours to do takes me about 13 hours with a 2 core computer to do a 3d movie from 50 gigs to 25 gigs.Faster and more cores in the computer the compress time could go down to 3-4 hours.

I am backing up Iceage 3D and they only have the HD audio in English (they do have other languages, but that won't help me..lol). I have taken off as much as possible, (all languuages and captioning), but it seems most of my backups are just over the amount. So I guess in this case I will not be able to back up unless I figure another work around.

You are not out of luck but your not doing as i say.When the copy as 3d page comes up theirs a box that you can check that says remove hd audio that you are going to check just for this movie it removes the hd audio but also decodes from the hd audio a DTS or dolby digital sound track in english and replaces the hi bandwith hd sound that takes up a lot of space and replaces with a much lower space taking dolby digital or regular Dts soundtrack just do it and see the result.

In case you don't know after taking out the soundtracks in other than English and the other stuff then you go to the next page where it gives you the choice to make a 3d disk that's already pre checked and their you should see the small box that you will check to take out hd audio like i said it will replace your audio with Dolby digital or Dts soundtracks depending which the disk started with.

One last thing theirs a list of movies the first thing listed in the list of topics in this thread is movies that fit on 25 gig disks so check that out also to see if the movie your doing has already been done and added to the list already.I didn't see older movies like the one your doing on this list as most are newer movies.And the list is not complete but it does serve as something a new user may find helpful.Your going to compress at some point and their are useful step by step videos on you tube showing how to do it.

I've looked at a couple of my 3D titles and as I am familar with the remove HD audio that you are talking about, the box to check and remove HD audio were not there when I got to the page it should be on. Not sure if that's common or if that is an exception.

Although I am going to re-rip the title and see if the remove HD audio is on the write data portion of the process.

Under blu ray copy if you are using full disk you see copy as bluray 3d then 2 other choices under that is a square box you check to remove hd audio if your using blu ray copy main movie look to the right side under the language box is the small square box that you check to remove hd audio please follow my lead and you will get the result your looking for.This is not done in any other part of the program unless you want to always remove the hd audio then you can do that in settings but you really don't want to do that i don't think.

You don't take the hd audio out in write date mode that's the last step you do this before the burn in the main movie or full disk process.
Take the store brought 50 gig disk and put fab into blu ray copy mode and select clone mode make 50 gig iso output to folder in fab called iso or clone this makes a exact 50 gig copy on your hard drive in 3d then mount it in dvd fab virtual drive this is a 3d movie player simulator free here on fab.open fab again once the movie is mounted it will go into the fab program by itself in a few seconds then pick full disk if you want all the trailers that came with the movie or main movie that's just the main movie their you can take out the other soundtracks and subtitles and you can check the take out hd audio now, fab will do the math you set output for 25 gig and you will be able to hit the next button and fab will do the process of first making a full disk or main movie folder the way you just selected and then it will do the burn disk you need not do anything else.In dvd fab settings make sure you select under burn engine dvd fab burn engine as the program user's that burn engine to make a 3d movie.Also if you select 25 gig and don't have a under 23.5 gig file now after taking out all the other soundtracks and hd audio then fab will compress the movie for what you set it for in this case 25 gig disk so fab will compress the disk to about 22-23 gigs then do the burn disk for you.This process of compressing the disk can take 13 hours as cuda can't be used in the 3d process faster more than 2 core computers can do it faster maybe a few hours.

I went through all the steps you suggested 3X and it did reduce the size of the file to fit the BD-R. However, when I select to write the date it goes through all the steps, even asking if I want to overwrite the existing information. It takes approx. 1hr and 30min to complete the burn. However, after completion when I looked at the BD-R the only thing that had actually burned on the disc was the title of the movie. The rest of the disc was empty. I then put my copy of Tangled 3D in and attempted to rip it. It got mid way through disc and the program froze.
Do you find the 3D copy to be buggy? Have you heard of any of these issues?

Ist off check your spelling as your last message doesn't get your point across.If you followed my directions fab will do everything for you it will then burn the disk also (if you put in a blank 25 gig disk.)You don't hit any buttons to burn disk also the burn should take 20-25 mins not 1.5 hours.It seems i can't help you please go to you tube their you will find step by step videos with a girl showing each step as somewhere your not doing something right.Watching the girl on You tube is like following the bouncing ball and you should be able to get it done correctly sorry i couldn't help you i did try.

The only thing I goofed on the previouse message was the word date should have been data.

I did do everything you instructed step by step, what is crazy is that
I have burned more than a hundred Blu Ray titles without a problem, but can't seem to get a 3D title to work properly.

I do think the burn times on a rewritable discs take longer than on a standard BluRay.

Do you have a youtube link you can give me that explains everything.
This is what I'm doing:

1. insert disc and change "source" to ISO
2. press "main movie"
3. remove all languages subtitles and check "remove HD audio"
4. "start" copy process
5. when process is finished remove original disc and replace with Blu Ray rewitable
6. change "source" to the ISO file that was made above
7. change "target" to the blu ray drive
8. click on "write data" to start processing

Did I do anything wrong in the above steps?

Hi,
For compressing 3D source with "Copy as 3D" option, plesae follow these ways:
1. Please set DVDFab Burning engine manually in Common Settings if you want to compressto to bd25 blank disc directly.
2. You must mount the .miniso file by DVDFab Virtual Drive v1380 or later when playback on PowerDVD or TMT if you target to an folder.
And if you want to burn the folder, you should set DVDFab burning engine in Common Setting and then burn the targeted folder in Write Data.
3. Target to an ISO file, not need to set DVDFab burning manually, DVDFab will switch to DVDFab burning automatically. Then you could burn the bd25 ISO file by ImgBurn or other burning engine.

Your steps is the #3. How about burning the targeted ISO file by ImgBurn?

I will not be playing any of my rips on my computer, so I'm only interested in backing them up to disc.

Looking at my steps 1 thru 8, do they look correct?

Do I have to create a miniso if I just want to burn directly to disc and not watch on my computer?

I normally do use Image Burn for copying standard Blu Ray, but I read in a previouse post in the forum that Image Burn will not work with 3D burning. Is that an untrue statement, will it work?

I am able to creat the 3D ISO's with no problem, I just can't get them on my Blu Ray rewritable. The title of the movie appears when you look at the disc drive, but nothing else is on the disc . I however have not tried Image Burn yet for the reasons I stated earlier.
