Thanks for your follow up. It seems to me that the automatic disabling of pathplayer causes more problems than it solves since it is sometimes unable to properly analyze some disks. I think it is better to leave the disabling of pathplayer up to the user or give the user a choice to use auto-disable or manual-disable.

Have a few more kids movies that have same problem that I will be posting about soon also but have few other things to do first
Sounds logical to me. I just want to track down the version that first started this mess, and I found it! See below.

Following your lead, I tracked down the first version that has the bug. Version 8.0.7.5 is not able to read my Zorro disk but version 8.0.7.3 is able to read the Zorro disc. Therefore, the bug was introduced in v8075.

As you, Gummigutta and I have all discovered, the newer versions of DVDFab do not correctly read some of the Disney episodic discs. In your case "Little Einsteins: Animal Expedition" was reported by DVDFab to be 14.8GB in size. Gummigutta found that DVDFab reported Hannah Montana - Vol 2:4 to be 15.347GB in size. I found that DVDFab reported the first disc in Zorro, The Complete First Season to be 38,967GB in size.

Gummigutta found that DVDFab v7506 would read the Hannah Montana disc without error. I found that DVDFab v6218 would read the Zorro disc without error. Obviously, at some point in the development of DVDFab a bug was introduced sometime after v7506 that causes the program to improperly analyze some of the Disney episodic discs. I will continue to keep v6218 on my desktop until this bug is discovered and removed from future versions. I thank all of you for sharing your experience and information about this problem. It’s been a great help to me.

Kinda looks like your has different copy protection on it but try the latest DVDFab 8.0.9.2 QT and might just work
v8085, v8089 Qt Beta and v8092 Qt still can’t handle Zorro, The Complete First Season. With any of these versions when the first disc of the series is opened up by DVDFab, it shows the DVD 5 Quality at 10% (38,967 GB > 4300 MB) and it shows DVD 9 as Quality 20% (38,967 GB > 8100 MB).

However, DVDFab v6218 reads the disc perfectly. When making a Full Disc copy it shows Quality 64% (6686 MB >4300 MB) and for DVD 9 it shows Quality 100% (6686 MB > 6686 MB).

Some sort of bug was introduced into DVDFab after v6218 that causes it to show that this DVD contains 38,967 GB of data. I don’t know at what point in DVDFab development the bug first showed up. I only discovered the solution because I had previously made a backup of this DVD when I first purchased it back in November, 2009. I was waiting to complete my set of Disney Treasure DVD’s before I did a complete archive to hard disc. When I attempted to backup this disc in March, 2011, the current DVDFab version wouldn’t work on this disc.

To this date the current DVDFab v8092 Qt still can't copy this disc correctly. I've sent logs to the DVDFab staff showing the problem but as I've stated, the old v6218 works perfectly on this disc.

Both of my 1st and the 2nd season sets have a release date of 2009. They are "Wave 9" of the Walt Disney Treasures series. The official release date was November 3, 2009 for this set.

Your 1st season set dated 2006 is a different volume. See this link:

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the 2006 version presents problems as well. I'll be standing by.

    Update

BINGO! I found the answer. I downloaded DVDFab 6218 and it had no problem making a full disk backup of Zorro, The Complete First Season. I still don’t know why the newest version of DVDFab has a problem with this disk but I have determined that this older version works!

For reasons unknown to me, the newer versions of DVDFab can not decrypt this DVD title.

That’s great news! I’ll be looking forward to your experience with this DVD volume. I have some more information that may help shed some light on the problem. I purchased this set of DVD’s when they were first released on November 3, 2009. After looking through my cache of backups, I discovered that I had made either a clone or a full disk copy of the first DVD in the season one set. I only made a backup of the first disc as a test to make sure that DVDFab could indeed backup this entire volume. I then put the original discs in a safe storage area. My intention was to archive the entire set (and all nine waves of the Walt Disney Treasures set) to a large hard drive at a later date. At that time, I did not have a hard drive large enough for the task.

I recently bought several large hard drives and started to archive my collection when I ran into the current problem. After discovering the DVD backup I had made, I realized that an earlier version of DVDFab had been successful in making the backup. I most likely used version 6205 to make the original backup but it could also have been version 6218 or 7030. At any rate, it is clear that an earlier version of DVDFab had been completely successful in backing up disc one of Zorro, The Complete First Season. I still don’t understand why the current version fails.

Let me add that in order to get a working DVD using Passkey with ImgBurn, I first had to create an image file on my hard drive from the original disc and then write the image file from the hard drive to a DVD. Passkey/ImgBurn would not allow me to (build) write files/folders from the original disc to a DVD. I think there are just too many files on the original DVD and they have an odd structure.

Thanks to both you and sunny for all the help!
