Widescreen DVD's seen as 4:3

I've had this problem before but I just ripped 48 hours. It's an anamorphic 2:35:1 dvd but DVDFab sees it as 4:3. When viewing the rip I get a little box in the middle of my screen. Is there a setting that I need to modify?

I had this problem with Bound dvd and some others as well.

It seems to be with anamorphic 2:35:1 dvd's.

It should be an authoring error, and you can change aspect ratio in "Video Effect Settings" window.

This used to be a common problem with the old 4:3 letterboxed widescreen movies, but DVDFab even handles them correctly now. Try Fengtao's suggestion, it should work fine. I did an anamorphic movie today with v8.1.0.2 and it worked correctly also.

OK...I tried to find the "video effects window" in DVD Copy and can't find it. Where exactly is it?
Also am I using this on the converted file or the DVD before ripping?

Complication

There is some terminology difficulty here. DVDFab Ripper is used to create individual video files and has the video effects settings mentioned. Using DVDFab Copy to "rip" the DVD to the hard drive will not change the aspect ratio as specified on the DVD.

What you have is called letterbox content and you cannot play the files directly. DVD playback software should recognize the letterbox and display it full width. Otherwise, you can use DVDFab Ripper to create a different file (mkv, mp4, avi) that has the correct aspect ratio. Just don't use MKV.remux of VOB Passthrough as these will not correct the aspect ratio.
