I appreciate everyone trying to help but unfortunately I don't feel like we really got anywhere. I will keep using 8085 I just wish it would be supported with the most recent copy protection removers.

    Hi Saxamattone
Sorry it went back to doing what it did before.
I would leave 8085 installed and use that if it is working for you.

    Hi Saxamattone

Please uninstall 8106 and use CCleaner to clean all leftover registry entries, then reinstall version 8106 again to see if it will now read the disc.

    bummer!

I'm actually burning a disc right now using 8106 and it's working but I had to use 8085 to rip it. This is a great product but I just wish I could get the latest versions to work right. I would happily keep using 8085 if it were still being supported with the latest protection blockers or whatever you call it. I only tried to upgrade because when I backed up "Made" on 8085 it didn't remove all of the protection. That's the only time that's happened but I just want to avoid trouble in the future.

OK. What setting for reading errors do you have?... In 8.1.0.6QT and 8.0.8.5. Is it same or different?

I read that and I have a better understanding of pathplayer now but that still doesn't seem to have any affect on my problems. Let me re-emphasize that all dvd's that won't open on 8.1.0.6 open perfectly fine when I open them on 8.0.8.5. Also, we should stop thinking about the program doing an endless read when using 8.1.0.6 but instead it's just freezing up. The program actually freezes and I can tell the the dvd-rom is no longer reading. I can't hit cancel or even close the program naturally. I have to task-manager close it.

    Read this:

    Q: What is PathPlayer?
A: gives DVDFab the ability to copy DVD content only allowed to be played on a real DVD player. In this way, DVDFab will ignore unplayable content which may contain copy protection.
    And this:
