Myself I used ver 8.0.8.5 on this movie with no problems, I know it's not the latest version but sometimes the older versions will work when the latest doesn't

The OP is posting from the U.S. so the disk is probably R1.
Read errors are most likely caused by a dirty / scratched or defective disk.

I just finished ripping this move to a hard drive with no problems.

V8181.
Movie only.
R1
16 min to finish the rip.
I cleaned the disk before starting the rip as I always do.
