    VERY slow burns

Let me preface this by saying that I have been using DVDFab since Version 6 ... I think.

I have used this to make back up discs for many years and now all of a sudden I have been having problems burning to the disc. I have installed new DVD burners but I had done a clean install on my computer and added these when getting things back up and running. I am using (2) of the LG GH24NSBO drives.

Once I had my computer back up and running I went online and downloaded the latest version of DVDFab ... 9.1.2.8

I am enclosing the dvdfab_burn_vso below:

The copy process went just fine but the burn was VERY slow. It never did get over 0.4. When I had the old setup in my computer it used to burn between 6.0 and 7.0 and would go from copy to the final burn of a disc in about 15 minutes or so. Tonight the burn was at 30% and it had been burning for quite a while ... over 30 minutes if memory serves me right.

    Any suggestions?

I went into settings and set the burn speed to 8.0 max as I am using 16X discs ... that I have used for many years with no coasters ... until tonight.

Anything else I can tell you?

I am using Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 3584 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory, my processor is: 2.67 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo 64 kilobyte primary memory cache 4096 kilobyte secondary memory cache 64-bit ready Multi-core (2 total) Not hyper-threaded.

Hopefully we can get this figured out. I have enjoyed this program for many years and think it has to be something in the settings that is messing with me.

    Thank you.

    Mark

        For time being ...

I have ... for the time being ... been burning an ISO file to my HDD and then burning the disc from that. It seems to be working okay at the moment and it does it fairly quickly. I get speeds in the 8.0 to 12.0 range and the disc works fine.

Maybe had a bad disk before or something on the new laser lens that got burned off maybe.

Possible solution that worked for me

Not to long ago I had to replace the factory burner in my HP machine and the burner I replaced it with was an LG DVD Drive GH24NSB0B. Everytime I tried to burn a disk after that I had the same s-l-o-w burn problems, same media and burn speeds. I switched from the VSO to the DVDFab burn engine. I am guessing that there is a compatability issue with the VSO engine to include newer drives. Change your burn engine and see what happens.
