DVD copy slow to burn and stops before done?

Tried search but if there was anything I missed it.

Just upgraded to win 10 and DVD Fab 9, had W7 and DVD Fab 5 before.
Copying a DVD before was fairly quick, but now DVD loads the DVD in under 10 mins, but goes for over and hour even with write speed at 12x and then stops before DVD is done.

Any suggestions?

Wow, that is terrible. Please post the DVDFab internal log for that most recent disc. Check to make sure your drive is not in PIO mode if it is not on a SATA controller.

That is the burn log, please give us the DVDFab internal log, it is in the same folder as the burn log. Tips for posting logs are linked in my sig, below. Your drive is in PIO mode according to the burn log. Probably part of your recent changes. If you can find it in Device manager, set it for UDMA. I do not have windows 10 here yet.

Not sure how to change from PIO to UDMA but I'll try.

then go to "general settings" scroll down and look for reset DMA

did you start dvdfab?? click on the triangle in the upper right corner.

I am not sure that the Reset DMA option works for Win 10 systems, but it might. The following is reported elsewhere to work for win 7 and may still work for 10 and is from a Microsoft KB article:

The "reset DMA" is not highlighted, so clicking on it does nothing?

Got confused enough to revert back to W7, still doesn't work.

It is unusual to report PIO mode if you've determined each ATA channel is UDMA? You're using good media, check the dye side hub ring for a serial number, if there it's genuine. Should burn at 8X okay. You might switch burning engines, I always recommend ImgBurn, it's the best.

Forgive me, a little confused here, shouldn't DVDFab9 burn also?
Haven't done much with DVD lately, but best I remember, DVDFab4 plat I had did it all with out any problems.

DVDFab uses 3rd party burning engines. It incorporates the process seamlessly for you. That is the advantage and your source of confusion. See attached:

OK, that makes sense, don't remember any of this from DVDFab 4 but if it worked on the default settings I would not have gone any further in the settings.

Looks like I'll have to find ImgBurn and install that, thanks.

When you do select custom install when asked each time and uncheck all the free crap that comes with it or you'll get stuff you don't want. And download from the ImgBurn site to avoid even more crap. Install to the default location so FAB can find it.

Ok, I think I got all that, something much be right because after the DVDFab loaded the DVD it went to IMGBurn and wrote it on a blank DVD.

Good deal! One more thing that will help, open ImgBurn with the desktop icon and select Tools, settings and click on the write tab and put a check in the OPC box. It will run a short test on an unused portion of the blank media and set the laser diode to the proper power level for the media. See attached:
