The MIDs are MKM 001 (2.4-4X) and MKM 003 (up to 8X).
Try for the stuff made in Singapore (MIS) as opposed to made in India (MII)
You can try reloading your drivers.
If this doesn't work, try unticking
Disable Media Change Notification in Img settings.
I also used a TDK -R SL at 8X and it worked fine w/ ImgBurn, but only after I selected "Continue" when confronted with this message:
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access
Reason: the handle is invalid
Do you want to try again
I have unchecked Disable Media Change Notification and will try another DL

I agree with Gruñón more and more I am seeing these filters which I believe are causing drive lock or crashes in Fab.

Well I spoke too soon. While DVD SL worked OK I got a failure using DVD DL.
I got an IO error just about 5 minutes after beginning the burn w/ ImgBurn. I do not see where there is a log of the error, or I would have posted it.
Once again though, lucky for me, I was able to burn the .iso using Nero since I hav not checked the box for it to be deleted.

I don't know for sure, never seen this before but I got a hunch this Apple program is gumming up the works:

As suggested, I'd try Img and see what happens.
CBR929 posted the link for you...^^
Also, when opening Img, take a look at your upper and lower filters.
Post them here so we can take a look.
Re: deleting upper and lower filters:
This article describes a problem with CD or DVD drives not work, or is missing, or not recognized after installing or uninstalling programs.
If you're still running into problems...
MS SysInternals > Process Explorer:
Find out what files, registry keys and other objects processes have open, which DLLs they have loaded, and more.

Guest repliedOk I now see you tried V6.2.1.8.
All I can see is that both versions say the burner is in use.
You need to do some looking to see what has locked the drive.
Maybe now someone else can offer some insight from the log.
