BD Ripper (3D Plus) M2TS Sound issues with Samsung TVs

I recently ran across an issue where I found that all of my Blu-Ray rips since last July, which are ripped to the M2TS container format with the M2TS Passthrough profile, won't play properly on Samsung TVs. The sound is either garbled or the Samsung TVs won't recognize the audio track. They will play fine on other devices such as WD Live, Kodi, Netgear and similar devices.

After quite a bit of testing by loading older versions of software I found that the problem started with v9.2.0.5 of DVDfab. Any Blu-Ray with DTS sound that I rip to M2TS with 9.2.0.2 and earlier works fine. Anything later and the audio when played on a Samsung TV is garbled and barely playable. I've tried this on multiple F series Samsung TVs and can reproduce it consistently.

Some change in Blu-Ray ripping to the M2TS container in v9.2.0.5 isn't liked by the Samsung codecs. I realize this is a very unique and odd problem.

    Wilson and team,

Any chance of looking into this ? It looks like this fix in 9.2.0.5 may be the cause.

Fix: A problem that the converted m2ts.passthrough videos from Blu-rays do not display the languages of the audio tracks when playing back in a video player.

Without fixing this I can't use my Samsung TVs to play files ripped with DVDFab since 9.2.0.5. I'll need to go out and get new devices like WD Live or similar. I'd really prefer not to.

    Thanks in advance.

I looked at this further and it appears that this feature/fix, to insert the language for the audio, is what is causing problems for the Samsung TVs and it appears to be different than the m2ts file right off the Blu-Ray:

Here's a Media info output for a current Blu-Ray DVD release RIP:

And here's the same m2ts file straight off the Blu-Ray. You can see DVDFab inserting the word English above, which the Samsung's don't understand. I'd settle for an option to turn this off/on or just turn it off to match the Blu-Ray native format:

        Hi,

Did you mean that the m2ts file can be played back fine on your Samsung TV if the file does not have the LANG code?

        Wilson
Please post your logs the default location is:
        For DVDFab 13: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab13\Log
        For StreamFab: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\log

          Wilson,

Correct. If the audio track doesn't have the language label my Samsung TVs play them fine. I've got two different Samsung TVs which do this.

If I rip a Blu-Ray with 9.2.0.2 or earlier using m2ts passthrough or if I extract the m2ts file natively off the ISO file the Samsung TVs will play them fine. If I use 9.2.0.5 or later, which inserts the language label, the sound is garbled and can't be heard on the Samsung TVs. I have 2 different models of Samsung. I wonder if anyone else has a Samsung and is seeing this ?
