Audio Pops and Sync Issue When Ripping DVDs

Hello All,

I am using DVDFab 6.2.1.8 and ripping Region 1 movies to mp4 for viewing on my iPod Classic.

Recently, I have encountered some audio pops and hisses on my mp4 files, causing the audio to go out of sync with the video. The most recent movies I've ripped are:

Julie & Julia
Mr. Brooks
Gabriel Iglesias I'm Not Fat I'm Fluffy
Casino Royale

I am using 2-pass conversion and have set the audio to 128 kbps.

Any thoughts on why this may be happening or what I can do to fix it?

You may try latest beta version.

This can be caused by the layer break and/or converting directly from the DVD.

Rip to the hard disk first and make sure that you have the layer break turned off.

Gregiboy - I have been having the same issues with the popping of sound and then audio going out of sync. I have followed your 'best practice' but still had the same result. However, you mention above to "turn off the layer break" - can you explain how to do this please? Thanks!

On the right side of the GUI there is a green check mark press that and then look down the list on left side for DVD / Blu-ray it is click on DVD under sub item protection.

Now on the right side look near bottom and make sure the remove layer break box is checked.

Thanks Karloff - I just checked my settings and that box is already ticked so in theory it should already be removing the layer break. I just tried the process again but am still getting the popping noises and immediately the audio goes out of sync.

Any other ideas??

Appreciate the tip, but as with debzidoo, it made no difference. I will be trying 7.0.2.7 this week to see if it makes a difference...

This popping and sync issues has been gong on for a while. It all depends on the movie. I have tried Planet 51 with multiple different versions of DVDFab. Same pop and sync on every rip. I'm really starting to get disappointed with DVDFab and this issue. Before moving onto the other newer features, lets resolve this one.
