I want to convert Blu-Ray disks that I own to DVD format so I can play them on a TV/DVD combo in the bedroom. I have tried the trial versions of Pavtube Blu-Ray Video Converter Ultimate and compared them against AVS Video Converter, AVS Video Editor (I already own the whole AVS suite of programs) Blu-Ray to DVD Pro II and a product from Imtoo. I also have AnyDVD HD.
My computer has an AMD Athlon 64X2 4200+ 2.2GHz CPU and GeForce 7600GS video graphics. OS is Windows 7 Professional.
I have recently added an LG Blu-Ray writer which came with Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and a program that assesses the computer for Blu-Ray compatibility. It says my video graphics card is not optimum, but PowerDVD plays Blu-Ray disks OK, but temporarily turns off Aero graphics to run.
I have run tests converting m2ts files to vob.
I find that both AVS programs and Blu-Ray to DVD Pro get halfway through a long movie and then stop with unknown error messages. This may be because of CPU or video graphics card limitations, but I do not know.
The Imtoo trial only gives 3 minutes of conversion, so I cannot tell if it is OK on a full movie, but it gave me audio in French from a Transformers disk. Both Pavtube programs seemed to work best and converted the whole movie OK. I also got English audio from the same m2ts file that Imtoo gave me French.
I am very happy with Pavtube that I have purchased. The software is very easy to use and edit with, I am editing and converting old family videos, it coverts DVD files perfectly, conversion speed and editing are very good. I like being able to alter the color and brightness and to deinterlace. Also ripping blue ray very good 10/10.
