This problem is replicated using DVDFab for Mac 8.1.3.8 on one Mac and 8.1.7.8 on the other. Tried this with 2 machines multiple Blurays, 2 blu ray readers and burners and I am getting the same error every time.
Here is how I archive the blu rays:
First I rip a mkv file with makemkv. I get a 24-30GB Mkv file.
Then I use video converter to convert this mkv into a compressed mkv to put on the NAS for easy viewing before archiving my discs.
I know there are easier ways to do this but this gives me total control on size, subs etc, and the pic quality is pristine
Now for the problem:
See Attachment 1: i am using the preset mkv.aac and this is the frame resolution i get is off the chart 1920x-654280 : so lets say I hit start conversion, I get a 504.1 error and the following error log:

0m 32.15s:
NOW HERE IS THE ODD PART:
I shut down dvdfab for mac, restart and LOAD THE SAME FILE..... i get attached pic 2 : everything works perfectly!!!!! (See error log below)
------ begin mobile work(1/1) ------
0m 32.15s: info: create config(3)
0m 32.15s: info: convert profile(mkv.default)

0m 32.20s: info: set output video frame_rate(24000/1001)
0m 33.58s: info: h264_encode: encode param profile(1) level(31) bitrate(3315)
0m 50.36s: ------ cancel all mobile work -------
The issue is that is is intermittent (works fine one out of 5 times), and is especially a problem on batch converts. I have to go thro each and every setting every time for every file.
I have turned off hardware encoding as suggested in preferences, reinstalled dvdfab for mac but no luck on fixing this issue.
Is there a resolution anyone has found??
Thanks
