    DVDFab fails to convert video

Every time I try to convert a certain video, it fails:

16:56:16: Conversion: two pass - first pass
16:56:16: DXVA GPU acceleration for video decoding enabled

16:56:49: Conversion: two pass - second pass
16:56:49: DXVA GPU acceleration for video decoding enabled

    16:56:57: Work 1 failed, Error = 504.00 1 2
    16:57:00: Process failed!

The specs of my video are found here:

Can anyone help me out here?

Try to use 1-pass and let us know how it's going.

      1-pass immediately fails also:

      19:46:20: Conversion: one pass
19:46:20: DXVA GPU acceleration for video decoding enabled

      19:46:27: Work 1 failed, Error = 504.00 1 2
      19:46:29: Process failed!

When doing to 2 pass, it sits there at 0% for a few seconds, then moves to the second pass at 0% and then fails. It fails after about a minute from starting it.

Also, I'm trying the software option instead of DXVA and it's crawling... It's as good as not working, because the encoding fps is at 8 and consistently dropping. The roughly 2 hour movie is estimated to be done in 13 hours at the moment. So basically, it still isn't working.

EDIT: I tried the same thing on 1-pass and it failed with the same error.

EDIT 2: I tried it with CoreAVC on 2-pass and it failed halfway through. Tried it on 1 pass and it failed right at the beginning with the same error. I cannot get this to convert!

I want to convert a TS-Stream to AVI.
It is coming from a SAT receiver.

I've just used the manual like this:

It was nearly ready after 36 min for about 6 GB TS-stream but then it is still proceeding at 100 % with a running working clock.

          Can anybody support this ?

            Hi Tiger.Wutz,

Have you upgraded to the latest version of DVDFab 8.0.6.8 at Please set A/V codec as software in Common settings and do 1-pass encoding to see the result.

If you still encounter the same failed error 504, we need you post your entire internal log for further checking, thanks.

similar issue here - generic default 2 pass ( source has PCM/2 stereo audio)
latest v8.68 fails immediately on 1st pass
              log:
09:25:17: Conversion: two pass - first pass
              09:25:20: Work 1 failed, Error = 502.12 7

old version 7 works fine on same source.

I am having the same issue since upgrading to 8.0.6.8. Tried the beta also. Doesn't seem to matter which type of video file I try to create, but it seems to be related to audiocopy to get this error and immediate fail. I went to generic.mp4.h64.aac and it starts to rip it, but then the entire program crashes. The kicker is that I still have version 7 on my hard disc. I tried it and it rips perfectly. It has been a few days, so I was hoping a solution had been found, but it looks like it hasn't.

                  Same Problem

I have the same problem when trying to convert a video.

It's only If I use audiocopy. Re-encoding audio to aac or mp3 works. But I'd like to keep the existing audio format. Any ideas ?

This may be a problem with the music DVD as another member have similar problem with Dire Straits DVD as well but why not give a try with your A/V Codec set as software for all choices instead of Cuda being selected

Thanks. I think you have the right track going. I just set to software on all. Tried Alchemy again and it failed. I then tried an RATM DVD which is also music, but it seems to be ripping.

Some additional info on the Dire Straits one is that it was made in Germany and is Region Zero. The first one I received as a gift could not be read by any DVD player. I did a return and the second one also had problems. I looked at it and it was incredibly dirty, even though it was just removed from shrink wrap. I cleaned and it was readable. Not sure how much any of this helps as I am not a DVD expert, but it was definitely not great quality.

                              Thanks again.
