    Revocation level ???

I have noticed that when you click on the " i " icon on the main window after a disc has been scanned, it displays source information about the specific drive and disc. There is a line that reads "revocation level: Unknown". (see the line with the yellow arrows in the attached screen shot)

I noticed in older versions, there was always actually a value here (e.g. "revocation level: MKBv62"), but now in newer versions it always just reads "Unknown".

Can someone explain to me what this is and is it an area of concern? I tried to research this on the internet and some info made sense but others did not and still not very clear on this.

MKB stand for media key block, which is a way (theoretically) for AACS to revoke the key in your drive if it has been broken. In practice, it does not actually work as you can see. I am not sure why DVDFab reports 'unknown' for the value, it may be having a problem communicating with your drive. I still see it on the latest x86 and x64 versions.

If I temporary install an older version, for example 10.0.4.8 x86, it DOES show a specific revocation level, but none of the newest versions do. I even installed a different drive (same model as shown, just a slightly older firmware - 1.02 instead of 1.03) and both of the newest versions still show "Unknown". At this point I wont get too excited about it unless something fails. But was just wondering about it. Thanks.

        Hello,

Please go to DVDFab Common Settings > Drives > Drives window, take a screenshot of this window and post it here.

After that, please download the latest version of Passkey 9 at http://www.dvdfab.cn/download.htm and use it to copy the movie disc again.

        Regards,
        mona

Here are the screenshots from both 10.0.7.9 x86 (left) and 10.0.7.9 x64 (right). x86 shows revocation level. x64 shows unknown.
