    [Solved] DVDFab crashes on opening

    Hi,
I've been using DVDFab for many years, and while it occasionally crashes a quick restart usually fixes the problem and I can successfully repeat the crashed task.
Recently my Windows environment became unstable, and I decided to have a clean Windows install on another drive. Unfortunately after installing Windows and DVDFab on top, it crashes whenever I try to open it. I tried both the latest version and the slightly older version I have on the older Windows installation, both with the same result.
How can I trace this problem?

    Thanks,
    Alan.

try right clicking on the dvdfab icon shortcut and select "run as administrator"
and see if you still get the crash.

Running as administrator makes no difference. It still crashes the same way

I can’t duplicate this on win10 or win7. Try the offline installer from the downloads page on the DVDFab website HERE and run it As Administrator. Check the activity logs of any security software (including Windows Defender and Firewall) to see if any DVDFab component was blocked. Attach a DVDFab internal log session to a new post.

          Here is what I've tried:

          1. Downloaded the offline installer
          2. Uninstalled DVDFab
          3. Turned off Windows defender and Windows firewall
          4. Installed as administrator using the offline installer

DVDFab still crashes the same way.

I'm attaching the DVDFab Internal log to this post.

          Thanks.

does your computer have all the latest updates including driver updates
for the graphics card ?? try installing dvdfab into a different directory and see
            if it still crashes.

When DVDFab crashed, did you receive a crash report field? If yes, save and zip the file and send it to us for troubleshooting, thanks.

                  Hi Mona,
                  Please see attached.
I removed one of the screenshots from the zipfile as it contained some confidential information.

                  Thanks, Alan.

does dvdfab still crash with the latest release - 11.0.8.6 ??
try restarting your computer in safe mode with networking and
then try starting dvdfab and see if it still crashes.

I'll have to try this later today.
Forgot to mention that I am able to use older versions, 10.0.9.7,seems to work just fine.

It looks like the latest version, 11.0.8.6, fixed the issue. It no longer crashes on opening.
                          Thanks for your help.
