No time frame but it is coming. Microsoft has revealed they are working on Windows keeping all software and drivers up to date, regardless of make and model.
What this means for a lot of us here is they will do the favor of installing the latest Pioneer firmware, thus removing UHD friendly status.
I highly doubt they will auto-update DVD or Stream fab products, but the gist of it is they will update anything on your system that needs updates, software, firmware or other.
The current infrastructure has multiple ways to disable optional updates of this nature. Will that setting be retained (highly likely) or will you have to completely disable Windows Update until a patch or edit is found?
Use at your own risk!! You can check your settings if you wish with this decent tutorial. You can also download and install programs such as WinAeroTweaker. The latter has an option to completely disable Windows Update, which I would not recommend as it breaks a lot of other useful features in Windows.
